Guam

The Guam National Olympic Committee (GNOC) is responsible for sending Guam athletes to the Micronesian Games and hosted the third edition in 1994. GNOC includes 30 sporting federations and earns income from a successful sports lotto and scratchies program. Guam has a rich sports culture and is historically tied to Spain and the US. The military installations on Guam are strategically vital for the US and contribute to its income and stability. Guam is an unincorporated organized territory with tourism and defense spending as its main sources of income. Despite challenges, GNOC continues to prioritize sport and physical activity as a means to address non-communicable diseases and obesity, ensuring the sustainability of the Micronesian Games.
